Frequently asked questions

FAQ-04

What is Vehicle Repair Protection?

It’s a monthly subscription that pays your repair bills when your car breaks down. A Vehicle Repair Protection subscription can save you $1,000s. All essential vehicle systems are covered, plus subscribers receive extra perks like free Roadside Assistance.

How does it work?

You choose your protection plan and pay a low monthly subscription fee to get coverage. When something goes wrong with your vehicle (outside of a collision), you choose a repair shop or have our expert concierge team find one for you. Start a claim in the app or provide the shop our information when you take your car in for diagnostics. Once the claim is approved, we’ll pay the bill directly. No reimbursements. Cancel anytime.

Where and how do I get repairs?

One of the great benefits of Uproar.car is that you get to choose where to have your car repaired. When something goes wrong with your vehicle (outside of a collision), you choose a repair shop or have our expert concierge team find one for you.

Is this car insurance?

No. Car insurance covers damages to your vehicle and liability in the event of a collision. We cover the repair bill when your car breaks down—something insurance does not do. Our vehicle protection plans cover hundreds of repairs from a $500 radiator replacement to a $2,000 new transmission. Plus we offer additional coverage for things like Key & Fob Replacement, Tire & Wheel Protection and Technology Protection.

How does it save me money?

Car repair bills are expensive. The average repair bill costs $500 to $600. But with Uproar.car vehicle repair protection, you don’t have to worry about repair bills. For a low monthly subscription fee, vehicle repair protection covers the bill for big and small repairs, from a $500 radiator replacement to a $4,000 new transmission.

How are Uproar.car’s vehicle repair protection plans different from competitors’?

  • Lower cost. Uproar.car subscriptions cost ⅓ of what competitors charge for similar products.
  • Month-to-month vs. long term contract. Our protection plans are month-to-month, allowing you to cancel anytime. Our competitors typically only offer coverage as a long-term contract that is very difficult to cancel or receive a refund.
  • More coverage options. Competitors typically only cover new or low-mileage vehicles. Uproar.car has coverage options for high-mileage vehicles and lease protection plans.
  • You choose the repair shop. Uproar.car subscriptions allow you to have your car serviced at the repair shop of your choice.

How much does it cost?

All plans are paid as a monthly subscription that you can cancel anytime. Prices for Vehicle Repair Protection varies depending on your vehicle’s make, model, year and mileage. Other products, such as Key & Fob Replacement, have a set cost which varies based on the coverage level.

What’s covered?

What’s covered depends on the type of coverage you choose. All our vehicle repair protection plans cover your vehicle’s powertrain, the vehicle’s essential “go” systems. You can choose between our good, great and high-mileage plans which vary by the number of components covered. We also offer additional coverage options for Key & Fob Replacement, Tire & Wheel, Lease Protection and Technology Protection. Uproar.car does not cover preexisting conditions.

I have questions about my coverage. Who should I contact?

You can contact the Uproar.car administrator by calling (877) 681-6683.

What if I have a pre-existing condition?

Pre-existing conditions are specifically excluded from coverage.

Why isn’t my vehicle covered?

We have coverage limitations on some luxury vehicles, cars over 120,000 miles, and cars more than 10 years old.

Are electric and hybrid cars covered?

Yes. However, there are exclusions to this coverage. All electric powered, or hybrid fuel parts including, but not limited to: electric fuel cells, regenerative braking systems, or electronic memory systems. Any parts or components of a natural gas/propane fuel system. Note that a hybrid vehicle is defined as any vehicle that uses alternative or electric fuel sources.

Is there a deductible?

Yes. How much depends on the type of coverage and on what you decide you want to pay. Our Vehicle Repair Protection plans have a $100 deductible. Tire & Wheel and Key & Fob have $0 deductible on the first claim and $100 on following claims.

How do I make a claim?

First, choose a certified repair shop and take your vehicle in for diagnostics. Our concierge team can help you find a shop if you need. Next, have the repair shop call our administrator at (877) 681-6683 to discuss the issue with your vehicle. If the repair is covered by your subscription, our team will let you know your claim is approved and you can authorize the shop to go ahead with the repair. After the repair is complete, Uproar.car will pay the covered portion of the bill directly to the shop. You will be responsible for any remaining expenses, including the deductible for your Uproar.car coverage.

Why was my claim denied?

Our goal is to cover as many repairs as possible! However, there are some repairs we simply don’t cover. We may deny your claim if:

  • The vehicle component requiring repair or replacement is not covered under your protection plan. You can view a full list of covered components on your subscription contract.
  • The repair is due to a preexisting condition. Uproar.car does not cover preexisting conditions.

What if I need a rental car?

Many of our plans include rental coverage. When your car is in the shop, we’ll reimburse you for the cost of a rental car.

Do you provide roadside assistance?

Yes! 24-hour Roadside Assistance is a base benefit that’s included in all Uproar.car subscriptions. Roadside Assistance covers you for flat tires, lockouts, dead batteries, fluid deliveries and emergency tows.

What if I want to add additional coverage?

You can add additional coverage anytime at uproar.car/getstarted.

Why do I have to wait one month for coverage to kick in?

Our protection plans do not cover pre-existing conditions. Having a one-month coverage delay helps us to reduce the number of fraudulent claims for pre-existing conditions, keeping our prices as low as possible.

What if I miss a payment?

There is a 5-day grace period for missed payments. If you make the payment within this timeframe, your coverage will continue as usual. However, during the grace period you will not be able to make any new claims.

If you do not make the payment within 5 days of the due date, your subscription will be automatically put on hold. You can reactivate your coverage by making a payment; however, there will be a one month waiting period before you can make a new claim.

What do you do with my information?

We will never sell your information to third parties. For more information refer to our privacy policy.

When do I get billed for my subscription?

Your first payment is due at signup. After that, you will not be billed again until your coverage begins. There is a one-month waiting period before this can happen. During this time, you are required to activate your vehicle by providing proof of mileage and VIN. After one month (provided you activated your vehicle), your coverage will begin and  your second payment will be charged to your chosen payment method. From this point forward, you will be billed on the same day every month. Note that if your coverage starts on the 29th, 30th or 31st, we automatically adjust your bill day to the 1st of the month.

How do I activate my car?

Activating your vehicle is simple. You will need to be with your vehicle to complete the process. You should have received an email requesting your VIN, odometer and other information specific to the coverage you purchased.  All you have to do is take a few photos with the requested information and reply to the email with them.

What happens if I don’t activate my vehicle within one month of signup?

Your Uproar.car coverage cannot begin until you activate your vehicle. As soon as you activate your vehicle, your coverage will begin and your second payment will be charged to your chosen payment method.

Are Uproar.car plans insured?

Yes. All of our coverage plans are underwritten by an A- rated insurance company.

Where is my VIN?

The VIN is typically located on the driver’s side of your dashboard, close to the windshield. It’s easiest to view from outside the vehicle by looking towards the wheel. It may also be located on the driver’s side door jam and on your insurance card.

How do I cancel? Can I get a refund?

While we’d be sad to see you go, we have a penalty-free cancellation policy. Prior to vehicle activation, you can cancel your subscription agreement and receive a full refund. After your paid coverage has started, you can cancel and receive a prorated refund—meaning you only pay for the time your car was covered, no more and no less.

Is there a penalty for canceling?
